WIR at the Open House Day at Saarland University

On this Saturday the Open House Day at Saaarland University is going to take place and we will be there too, of course! 😀

Feel free to come around, pepper us with questions and have some cake! 😀 We understand Arabic too. 😉

Find us from 10:00 to 15:00 at the fairground (Fest-Wiese) at Campus (in front of the Studienkolleg).

Feel free to spread the news. 😉

We created this website to guide refugees who want to study in Saarland, especially at Saarland University, through the most important stations of resettlement, like apartment search, enrollment and job search.

See here who we are and what we do.

You’re a UdS student and want to help refugees at UdS too, but don’t know how?Find all the info on this page.

If you have some questions, just write us!

Free Legal Advice at the Youth Club

After a great start in December, DAJC and Refugee Law Clinic Saaarbrücken e.V. (RLCS) are now looking forward to continue their cooperation and in doing so to provide free legal advice.

This cooperation is meant to be a new contact point for migrants who look for legal advice. It was initiated by the Association for the Promotion and Integration of Young People with a Migration Background and their Families e.V., which acts as provider of the DAJC.

You can find the DAJC at Nauwieser Viertel, Johannisstraße 13, 66111 Saarbrücken. In addition to the Youth Club itself, the building also houses a Tutoring Group for Pupils und the Peperona Project for Girls. English descriptions of these can be found in DAJC flyer at http://www.dajc.de/fileadmin/Englisch.pdf.

The legal advice sessions by RLCS are planned to be hold on a regularly at DAJC. This sessions primilarly aim at refugees and asylum seekers, but also anyone who is in need of legal advice in respect to aliens law. Volunteer translators ensure a smooth communication.

The volunteer consultans of RLCS give their best to help you with any kind of out-of-court affairs, however, they do not replace regular lawyers.

No traveling costs for math courses anymore

No traveling expenses anymore for refugees who live in the Regional Association of Saarbrücken and take UdS math courses!

In a successful cooperation with Jobcenter Saarbrücken we managed to ease the financial burden on refugees during their study/entrance test preparation period. From now on, refugees who live in the Regional Association of Saarbrücken can apply for a subsidy for and/or a reimbursement of traveling expenses for the

  • Math Refresher Course for the Entrance Test (incl. Entrance Test)
  • Math Preparation Course for studies in MINT subjects

at Saarland University. Read more about this great development!
